First Days
It wasn't long ago, you gave us quite a scare
you came as an early baby, was almost more than I could bear,
But now I know you came just right when we needed you,
not long after, you turned one, then the terrible 2's!
Your first day of preschool, you gave us a grin,
No crying or fussing when we walked you in,
And you would tell me you loved me this much,
arms stretched out wide, no scowls at my touch,
Then came the day I had to let you be,
excitement, fear, and anxiety,
It was the first day of Kindergarten,
I wanted to hold your hand,
But you were determined to be a little man,
"Just go, Mom. I'm fine. Don't cry, ok?"
So I held back the tears and watched you walk away,
Brock, you're my baby and always will be,
so when you come home each day to me,
I'll secretly hold you, no one will know, you
just give me that moment of time with Mommy.
I love you Beamer!!!
